ART WALK F.A.Q.

do I have to be a professional artist?

Absolutely! We welcome artists of all levels and are more than happy to help those displaying their artwork for the first time. While we don’t require all artists to have their work professionally framed (as it can be quite expensive), we suggest a framing option that is meaningful to them and gives their artwork a polished appearance. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to us.

How do I schedule?

Please fill out the form below with the required information. Availability is limited and scheduling is on a first-come, first-served basis. Kindly be patient with us if your preferred months are not available. The schedule posted in the form is updated periodically and may not always be accurate, so please select a few different months when signing up.

Once you finish the form, a team member will reach out soon to coordinate the next steps.

If I am chosen, when can I setup?

The Bremerton First Friday Art Walk is every 1st Friday of the month from 5 pm – 8 pm. Typically we arrange for the previous artist to breakdown the week before, so the following artist can coordinate the best time for them to setup their show. If needed you can show up a few hours before the event and setup.

Does my artwork stay up all month?

Yes, please plan to keep your artwork on display for an entire month. However, if you need to take down your exhibit earlier for any reason, we completely understand.

Can I sell my artwork?

Yes! Please be prepared to sell anything that is on the wall. We also offer options to set up a table or a shelf with prints and other items (stickers are always a hit) you might like to sell that evening.

If you decide to set up a table and sell other items, it will need to be dismantled at the end of the evening and cannot remain for the entire month. Only artwork that is hung on the wall can stay installed.

Please be prepared to sell your items with cash or a personal point-of-sale device. If we run your sales through our point of sale, a 30% commission will be applied.

Does Fingers Duke take commission?

We like to keep it simple: if the artist is present during the art walk and would like to handle their sales, they are more than welcome to do so. We can set up your products to be processed through our point-of-sale system for a 30% commission.

Every artist is at a different stage of their artistic career, so we aim to be as inclusive as possible. If you are a more established artist and would like to offer Fingers Duke a higher commission (it has happened), please let us know.

How much space do I have to work with?

We have a large wall dedicated to artwork, measuring approximately 12 feet wide and 20 feet tall. You don’t have to fill this entire space. Keep in mind that a curated show is generally more successful.

What else will Fingers Duke need from me?

For the sake of ease, Fingers Duke will normally coordinate the basic scheduling of Facebook events. We also create basic graphics with a few samples of your artwork that can be used on social media.

If you want to create graphics for your show, we are more than happy to use those and help with the marketing efforts.

We also are capable of creating labels for your artwork. We will need a list of what you will be showing to include the name of the artwork, price (if for sale), and any other info that you find to be important.

How else can I be prepared.

We have all the hanging tools that you will need including nails, hammers, and levels. If you want to use a specific hanging tool, please feel free to do so.

A simple business card is key!  An artist statement is also very good to have.

If you plan on taking your payments, please come prepared with a cash bag and a point-of-sale method (square is pretty easy)!
